Putting the Labour in Labour Weekend
Well, we did take a day off although I did go down to the site and try to fall off a ladder to keep up my one fall a day record. The Master Builder was kept on a leash for a day but couldn't be controlled on Sunday when he broke out and set off to play with the beam planer and the mega-saw. He decided to work on the beams which form the attic floor and the bedroom ceiling. See all the photos taken by Dr Mary-Anne Campbell pretending to be an artist. I like the one of the planer so I'll put that on the blog as proof of her skills with the camera.
Suddenly, with 7 beams up, there is now a shape to the house, and now, by Tuesday afternoon and showers stopped play, we even have the interior walls up. The photo of Deborah wandering under the beam ceiling is already out of date: there are three interior walls where she is standing.
The Master Builder is even decorating the place with strategically placed beams.
The weather changes on Tuesday but still we manage a full day'S work. Back to sawing more wood tomorrow and now I know how beautiful these logs can become..
