DC is turning this place into a home for a few weeks. She’s brought a mountain of food supplies which need homes. And then I visit our garage to find that the place is damp and I have visions of IKEA particle boards twisted into Chinese shapes. Did I suffer the anxiety of that 1500 km trip with the ancient tomato trailer to meet this fate? No, time to assemble some of them.
I make two mistakes during the day. The thing to remember about IKEA is that if you have to take a hammer to a piece of their stuff, then you’re making a mistake somewhere. Luckily I am able to recover from both mistakes, once with Michael’s help. He is so logical in his approach. I can learn from that.
By the end of the day we have cabinets assembled and in place to help with the organization. Assembling two cabinets with all their drawers is okay for a day’s work here out on the point.
Now I’m in a rhythm with this blogging, I’ll limit my entries to 250 words a day. It’s surprising how that focuses the mind.
