So, if you're going to build a house in Cape Breton driving rain you might as well have a big space to work in. I go over to the garage to pick up more IKEA stuff to assemble and Michael's already got the door off and a look of construction in his eye. So, why not build our workspace? Now we have power we can use all these great tools he's assembled.
In no time there's a mitre saw (is that what it's called) going and within an hour there is a work table and two shelves onto which I dutifully pile all Michael's tools. I also sweep the floor which makes a good impression, thed floor at least. A bit like Oldy, Michael's dad, except that I'm only 65, nowhere near 99 when Oldy was last sweeping this bit of concrete. By the end of the day we have a huge workbench, clean floors and several major tools set up to run.
Important to feel very positive about the project.
Those fabulous meals make it a lot easier: no cheese butties for me and my mate. Wiener schnitzel and individually cooked French fries...
