Tuesday May 17 2011 Fish on the main street in St Peters

DC comes with us on an expedition to St Peters. It’s like a trip to Fairview back in SAB: shops! People!
The Masterbuilder and I visit the very accommodating building inspector who goes over our plans, photos and notes which I have been working on since January. Everything is fine but we need an engineer to go over our roof plan because it falls outside the national building code. Fair enough: someone has to be to blame if it falls on my head.
Now, about that septic system. I do some more research, call in a quote from a company. It’s very tight whether or not our lot could meet norms for a conventional system. A closer analysis of the Peat Moss system makes it look like a viable alternative and I’m less worried about its durability. Now it’s a question of who sells them and what is the best deal we can get.
A draughtswoman, Cathy, who works with our QP, is going to do a drawing of the roof structure for an engineer’s approval.
Slowly working our way through the pre-construction details.
The find of the day was the refrigerated van selling fresh fish on the corner of the turn out of St Peters in direction French Cove... Cod cheeks! Salted cod! Cod cod.
The photos are from St Peters main street.
