The day starts early at the new Halifax market, at the Crêpe stall, to be precise, and although the young chef wears a beret she is not a francophone. She is part of a Breton theme. The lady at the next stall is selling Cornish pasties in the British theme, with HP sauce and ginger wine. Kevin, Sally, Frances gather for crêpes and, thanks to Kevin, moist sweet cake, all very filling and delicious. A girl serving at the Bavarian meat stall finds the pronunciation of word "schnitzel" very funny. Will she last? Stalls of organic meats and vegetables and crafts... Then we go back to Janet’s place to get the trailer and head off to find that wood stove... The two young salespeople in Elements just shut up shop for 30 minutes to take us round to their warehouse to pick up the stove... Deborah suggests that we should take the bricks out of the stove to lift it and it does the trick. Will the trailer do it again?
Lee Valley provides handles for our Ikea kitchen and a rain-barrel to experiment with rain water. On the way back to Cape Breton I realize that we’ve driven 750 kms since Thursday which is actually halfway to Montreal. No wonder we’re a bit fazed out when we get back to Cape George...
Frances gives DC some wonderful mid-century stuff which Frank bought for her and brought back on one of the Queens. It is fun to think about the young Frank and Frances. We'll need a photo of the young couple.
Didn’t realize it was Wayne’s 49th birthday, so we have another party. Why not? And then it rains again overnight.
