So, this week: I spend three days dismantling the forms of the foundation wall, then switch to help the MB with the drainage which involves burying very robust plastic pipes with holes in them under a level of gravel covered by a geotextile which should help keep the pipe clear of mud. Finally the job is done and there is a dry walkway of gravel all round the wall.I also spend some time clearing up the piles of wood inside the wall, sorting it into sizes, a bit like a child identifying shapes into piles. Apart from the occasional unevenness of the foundation wall which we will have to rectify with chipping and shimming things are looking like they might be on the right track.
On Thursday the boaters arrive and we are definitely in holiday mode with DC following tennis, mourning the departure of Roger Federer, while I take pride in what has turned out to be an excellent homebrew!
